What is Fitness?



A Brief Introduction

Before we can even emphasize on the importance of Fitness, one of the most crucial things that we have to clarify is its definition.
Most people confuse fitness with strength and the ability to lift weights or run long distances. However, this ideology barely scratches the surface of this topic as a whole. 
In itself, fitness actually can be broken down into 2 primary segments; Physical Fitness and Mental Fitness.
Physical Fitness has 5 major components:
  • Cardiorespiratory endurance
  • Muscular strength
  • Muscular endurance
  • Body composition
  • Flexibility
As for Mental Fitness, it is comprised of 4 major components:
  • Mental Preparation
  • Confidence
  • Concentration
  • Motivation
In the following few posts, we will be touching on how both segments play a part in our fitness levels and ultimately affect our health.
